Deaf Mosaic is by Stephen Iliffe, a deaf photographer and writer with 30 years’ experience in deaf-related research, campaigns, services, photography, magazines and websites.

Researchers believe five main European versions of sign language — British, French, Spanish, Austrian and Swedish — spread around the world in the late 18th century and evolved to form the plethora of languages seen today.

Dr. Vicars is the founder of "ASL University," which is an online resource site for sign language students, teachers, interpreters, and parents of Deaf children.

The main objective is to produce teaching and learning materials in ASL with two focuses: 1.) ASL literature, preserving culture and history and 2.) ASL Linguistics, promoting a better understanding of the complex structure and use of sign languages.

A two-hour documentary that explores almost 200 years of Deaf life in America and presents a broad range of perspectives on what it means to be deaf. The film is propelled by the stories of people, both eminent and ordinary, and sheds light on events that have shaped Deaf lives.

NTD has appeared and performed on Broadway, the Disney Channel, on Sesame Street, at the White House, and before luminaries and dignitaries the world over.

DeafTEC, with the support of a gift from The Dow Chemical Company, has developed this STEM ASL Dictionary under the stewardship of Geoff Poor, Professor of American Sign Language (ASL) at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) in Rochester, NY.
