Research Communication Best Practices

Search the Web for Organizations and Associations

One way to find recommendations, ethical guidelines, and best practices for communicating with various groups is to search the internet for organizations or associations that publish such recommendations.  A word of caution: ALWAYS read critically, check the ABOUT links, and consider researching the source of the information to determine whether it is recognized and considered authoritative to speak to the questions you are asking.

Example:

Group: LGBTQ+ community

You search keywords: LGBTQ organization association "social media"

Among the results you find: GLAAD Social Media Safety Index
