"Kanopy: Embed Films, Clips, and Playlists Into a Canvas Course," created December 2020, 3 minutes.
Access to Kanopy is available:
You will see this message at the top of all pages in Kanopy: "Access is currently limited, as per your library's request. For any titles that you are uable to access, please fill out the request form on that film's page."
Here is what it means: You will be able to search for films in the Kanopy collection through the library catalog or directly through the Kanopy website or app; however, the library must first purchase a one-year license to the film before it can be viewed. If you try to watch a film in Kanopy for which we do not yet have a license, you will be prompted to complete a request form (see below) for the film. Library staff will review your request. Film licenses can be purchased and access to the film made available in a short time; usually two business days. Priority is given to films that are requested by faculty for use in a course. Access to a film will remain for one year from the date of purchase.
Kanopy provides a number of guides detailing how to use the database beyond simply browsing and watching.
