Permalinks

Provides an overview of permalinks: their purpose, how to find them, and how to use them accessibly.

Columbia College Library Catalog

Every item in the Columbia College Chicago Library catalog has its own permalink, which help users access the most current editions and information about library materials. To find an item's permalink, watch the video below or follow these steps:

  1. Enter the name of your item in the search bar on the Columbia College Chicago Library homepage.
  2. Click on the name of your item in the list of search results to open its full entry in the catalog.
  3. Click the icon titled "Permalink" from the list of buttons under the "Send to" heading.
  4. Click the "Copy the Permalink to Clipboard" button under the URL that appears.

EBSCO Databases

To locate a resource's permalink in an EBSCO database, watch the video below or follow these steps:

  1. Enter the name of your item in the search bar on the homepage of the EBSCO database.
  2. Click on the name of your item in the list of search results to open its full entry in the database.
  3. Click the button titled "Permalink" from the list of tools to the right-hand side of the screen.
  4. Copy the URL that appears at the top the screen.

ProQuest Databases

To locate a resource's permalink in a ProQuest database, watch the video below or follow these steps:

  1. Enter the name of your item in the search bar on the homepage of the ProQuest database.
  2. Click on the name of your item in the list of search results to open its full entry in the database.
  3. Click the icon titled "Copy URL" from the list of buttons in the top right corner of the screen.
