Citing Creative Commons Media

Here are best practices for providing attribution to Creative Commons media that you use.

The most complete, and therefore ideal, attribution is as follows:

"<Title of work>" by <creator name> is licensed under <license type>

Each element should be linked to the source if possible. The CC license information is linked to the license deed. For example:

"Teddy at the Beach" by ShuttleRunner is licensed under CC BY NC 2.0

You may not be able to provide all of the information in this example. Or you might have created a derivative work based on media with a Creative Commons license. Here is more information about how to cite Creative Commons media in different situations.
