Library Fellows Program

A program to create Faculty and Library Staff collaborative projects that will incorporate Library resources across the college curriculum.

The Library Fellows Program

The Library Fellows program provides an opportunity for faculty and library staff to work collaboratively in exploring and developing innovative models and methods of incorporating library resources and technologies across the curriculum at Columbia College Chicago.  Faculty and library staff, working together as partners, will create new types of learning objects, instructional strategies, resources and/or technology tools that can be applied not only to specific courses but across the entire curriculum to enhance and promote teaching, learning and scholarship at the college.    The focus of the project should be to create rich, authentic library/student interactions that will deepen students' experience with the library and its resources.

The Library will provide grants for two two-member teams (one faculty member and one library staff member) who will serve as Library Fellows during the  Calendar Year.  Each team member will receive a $500 stipend upon completion of the project and delivery of the final report..

Each proposal should address the following issues:

  • Project title, topic and team
  • Purpose and goals of the project
  • Description of the project
  • Long term expectations (Learning Outcomes, sustainability, and replication)
  • Implementation plan
  • Assessment plan

Please email and submit a written copy of your proposal to:
Arlie Sims
Head of Reference and Library Instruction, Library

The deadline for submitting a proposal is Friday, March 30, 2018.
